Having a first aid kit in your utility truck can be a lifesaver and time saver. You should have a personal injury kit and medical supplies available. Along with supplies like band aids and ointment, you should keep a fire estinguisher in your vehicle, too. 

It can also be smart to have a survival kit in your vehicle, including an emergency blanket, if a serious situation were to take place. You never know when something could happen, so keep a spare tire, extra clothing, water, and food available. 

4. Job-Specific Tools

When you have your own utility truck, it’s great to carry your own tools and job-specific essentials. It’s critical to have a general set of tools that can work for any job, especially if you are dispatched to a job while you’re on the road. However, you may also need to pack specific tools for a certain job or repair, so having a portable toolbox might make sense as well. 

You should also keep your essential safety gear with you at all times and you may even take extra layers with you, too. If your work requires a specific dress code, it’s especially helpful to have additional gear with you!
